This week, I found myself back at @glasgow_caledonian_university , the university I attended back in 2007 - 2011, at their ‘Entrepreneurial Hub’ as we look to take advantage of all the incredible support that Scotland has to offer start-ups, in our mission of building @ttm.coaching .
It was a nostalgic experience as I walked back onto a campus where I spent 4 years of my life as im sure you can relate. Being in a place, environment, or around people, that were once a huge part of your life is often a very “out-of-body” experience. Because in one way, everything feels so familiar, but in another way, it’s all different. As we grow, we continue to evolve into different versions of ourselves, as do the people and environments around us.
When we find ourselves in these nostalgic situations, we often think about the version of ourselves that we once were and often (for me at least) we want to either shake them or hug them. If I had a pound for every time I said “If only I knew then what I know now”, but isn’t that the point of life? To grow, to learn, and to evolve? And If there was no ‘them’, there would be no us!
So while I ‘went back’ this week, I believe we never truly “move backward” in life, as we continue our growth journeys, and learn and evolve a little more each day. Yes, looking back is a fun reminder of how far we’ve come, but there is also some kind of exhilarating power in the knowing that the only way we can move is forward.
I wonder what we’ll know in 1, 5, or 10 years’ time that we don’t today?

It’s one thing to “want” something it’s another thing to “commit” to it. I believe that motivation alone isn’t enough to achieve our goals, but instead the commitments we make to ourselves and the disciplined actions we take every day.
I get it, discipline feels hard at the beginning but over time, it just becomes our daily habits. What discipline looks like to me:
➡️ Sleep - I love and need 8 hours or else I can’t think or function properly.😴
➡️ Exercise - If I don’t work out I feel fluggish and my mind feels hazy, by going to the gym, running, swimming or walking it brings me greater mental clarity and more energy for the day. 💪🏻
➡️ Journalling - While I love to work with my coach, journaling is something I can do by myself, at any time. Getting thoughts out of my head onto paper not only provides me with inspiration for my work, it also allows me time to be introspectve, to reflect and learn more about how I feel and why I feel it. Finally it gives me a greater sense of clarity so I can continue to learn and improve. (We’re never done learning or becoming a better version of us)✍️
➡️ Execution - Yes we all have ideas, but sometimes we spend so long thinking about something instead of doing it. (I can be guilty of this too!) We’re co-creating our experience here (like a game of tennis), so for me the only way we bring things into existence is to do my part and “return the ball” 🏓
➡️ Alone time - I love people, I love being around others, I get inspired by others and I love helping others grow, but I know that I need time alone to mentally and energetically recharge, so I can continue to be at my best for the world. 🧘♀️
I, like everyone else, am a work in progress, but these consistent disciplined actions help me be at my best. Do you want it or are you committed? What are your commitments to yourself? How do you stay disciplined?

Do you ever find yourself feeling drained or depleted without understanding the reason for it? 😅While there are many identifiable reasons such as lack of sleep, poor diet, giving more than you’re recieving or misalignment in your life, there are also other reasons that you may not be able to put your finger on right away.
If you’re anything like me, you could also be very empathic, and may find yourself feeling and taking on the emotions of others. 😶🌫️While this is a great strength to be able to empathise and put yourself in others shoes, it can also sometimes come at a detriment to ourselves if we don’t manage and protect it effectively.
Over the years, I have learned to first identify when this is happening, second to reflect and understand why and third, how to clear these feelings so I can keep my energy in check! ⚡️🔋🙌
Firstly, this is how I recognise it
➡️ Lacking energy for daily activities - our most natural state is energised.
➡️ Feeling down, sad, or frustrated rather than a neutral ‘at ease’ - negative emotions are a signal to look within.
➡️ Being easily triggered - someone could say something and you find yourself being snappy or defensive, however you have a awareness this isn’t/wouldn’t be your natural response.
When I recognise what I’m feeling isn’t usual, I then self-reflect and ask myself “What caused me to feel this way?” and “What could I do differently next time to avoid these feelings?” “What have a learned from this experience?” Then I move forward and clear the energy using the tips in this reel.🙌
